A daylong training workshop on recovering defaulted investments through the application of the Artho Rin Adalat Ain, 2003, NI Act, 1881, and other relevant laws was recently held at a hotel in the capital. Managing Director (Current Charge) Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan inaugurated the Workshop as the chief guest. Deputy Managing Director Md. Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan attended the event as the special guest.

In his address as the chief guest, Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan highlighted the growing concern over the alarming rise in defaulted investments in the Banking sector. He emphasized the need for swift and lawful measures to ensure the recovery of investments. He also states his firm belief that this training workshop will enhance the skills of the concerned officials, enabling them to play a pivotal role in recovering defaulted investments.

He further remarked that while taking legal actions for recovery is crucial, the effective application of all necessary strategies is the demand of the time. He also stressed the importance of focusing on deposit growth alongside recovery efforts.

The training workshop was presided over by the Principal of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI) Md. Abdur Rahim Duary. Senior Executive Vice President Md. Sharif Chowdhury, Dhaka South Zonal Head Md. Monzurul Alam, Dhaka North Zonal Head Md. Mujibur Rahman were also present at the workshop.

Participants included managers, operations managers, investment in-charges, and investment officers from 10 corporate branches as well as various branches under the Dhaka South and North zones.
