A day-long Town Hall Meeting of the Sylhet Zone of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC was held at the conference hall of Grand Sylhet in Sylhet city on Saturday, 19 September 2026. The event was attended by the Bank’s Chairman Badiur Rahman, Executive Committee Chairman Alhajj Salim Rahman, Directors Engr. Kh. Mesbah Uddin Ahmed and Alhajj Md. Rafiqul Islam as Special Guests.

Managing Director of the Bank Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan presided over the meeting. Deputy Managing Directors Md. Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan, Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan and Sayed Abul Hashem, FCA, FCMA were present on the occasion.

At the event, Bank Chairman Badiur Rahman said, “Al-Arafah Islami Bank has moved forward over the years with the trust and confidence of its customers. At this juncture, we want to move ahead with renewed enthusiasm in a stronger and more organized manner. We must further strengthen the Bank’s position through quality business expansion, deposit growth, improved customer service and sustainable growth. Above all, every activity of the Bank must be conducted with the highest importance given to the principles and values of Shariah.”

Executive Committee Chairman Alhajj Salim Rahman said, “The key strength behind the progress of any institution is its people and their collective efforts. Every branch and officer of Al-Arafah Islami Bank must focus on creating new business opportunities, mobilizing quality deposits, maintaining strong relationships with customers and ensuring improved service. If we work together as one team toward one common goal, InshaAllah, it will be possible to take Al-Arafah Islami Bank forward as a stronger, modern and sustainable Islamic banking institution.”

 

Managing Director Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan said, “All of us associated with this institution are members of one family. This Town Hall Meeting serves as an important platform for strengthening our mutual connection, reviewing our progress and determining our future course of action.” He also instructed the branch managers to pay greater attention to achieving their business targets across various areas.

The event was moderated by the Bank’s Senior Executive Vice President and Head of GSD Engr. Md. Habib Ullah. Senior executives from the Head Office were also present at the event.

The Town Hall Meeting was organized under the overall coordination of Sylhet Zonal Head and Executive Vice President A.K.M. Amzad Hossain. Managers and officials from 18 branches and 10 sub-branches of the Bank’s Sylhet Region participated in the meeting.
