The regional rounds of the Al-Arafah Islami Bank 11th Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad (BDJSO)- 2025 were held in Chattogram and Netrokona on Saturday, August 30, 2025. The events took place at CDA Public School & College in Chattogram and Datta High School in Netrokona, where thousands of students from different districts participated in the Olympiad.
Earlier, students from Dhaka, Khulna, Rajshahi, and Rangpur divisions had already competed in their respective regional rounds. From these divisional-level Olympiads, a total of 60 students from across the country will be selected to participate in the national round of BDJSO.
President of Bangladesh Open Source Network Munir Hasan, Professor of Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology Dr. Ujjal Kumar Deb and Dr. Animesh Chakraborty, Professor of Chattogram University Dr. Adnan Mannan, Professor of at Chattogram Medical College Dr. Farhana Akhter, Executive Vice President of the Bank Jamshed Ahmed Chowdhury, and Principal of CDA Public School & College Abu Hena Mohammad Mostafa Jamal were present at the Chattogram regional round.
Headmaster of Datta High School Md. Mojibur Rahman, Manager of Netrokona branch of the Bank Md. Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan and Teachers of the school were present at the regional stage organized in Netrokona.
With the patronage of Al-Arafah Islami Bank, more than 17 thousand students from all over the country have registered for the Bangladesh Junior Science Olympiad. The best 6 competitors selected from the national stage will form the Bangladesh team for the 22nd International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) to be held in Russia in December.
