Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC, a leading Shariah based financial institution in the country, has launched Digital Dan Box, Bangla QR (Static & Dynamic) Acquiring, and the “Digital & Cashless Campaign 2026.” The inauguration ceremony was held on Sunday, April 12, at the Bank’s Head Office.

Chairman of the Board Khwaja Shahriar inaugurated the products and campaign as the Chief Guest, while Managing Director Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan presided over the event. This initiative marks a significant milestone in developing a digital and cashless ecosystem in the country.

In his speech, the Chief Guest Khwaja Shahriar highlighted that API-driven technology is enabling integrated and seamless banking services, which play a vital role in building a cashless economy. He noted that the introduction of Digital Dan Box and Bangla QR payment system will facilitate easy, fast, and secure transactions, while also enhancing transparency and efficiency in charitable activities.

In his remarks, Managing Director Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan emphasized the Bank’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives and urged all concerned to work collectively towards achieving the national vision of a “Cashless Bangladesh.” He added that such initiatives would strengthen financial inclusion and expand access to banking services for underserved communities.

In his welcome address, Deputy Managing Director Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan stated that the Bank has achieved significant progress by launching Bangla QR-based Digital Dan Box and payment system ahead of the timeline set by Bangladesh Bank. He also mentioned that customers will be able to perform transactions easily and securely using any banking or mobile financial service (MFS) apps.

Deputy Managing Directors of the Bank Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Md. Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury, Md. Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan, Mohammad Hossain, S. M. Abu Jafar, and Syed Abul Hashem, along with Members of the Management Committee (ManCom), heads of different divisions, senior executives, and corporate branch managers were present at the event. Branch managers from across the country also joined the program virtually.

The Digital Dan Box will enable customers to make donations easily, transparently, and securely through digital channels. Meanwhile, Bangla QR acquiring (both static and dynamic) will allow merchants and customers to conduct instant, secure, and hassle-free digital transactions. Through the “Digital & Cashless Campaign 2026,” the Bank aims to promote digital payments, enhance financial inclusion, and improve customer convenience through innovative digital banking solutions.
